Tarran Senay had wrist surgery as a junior in high school. As a senior, he hit .381 with 22 walks and scored 22 runs and was 2-0 with two saves. He was picked by the Detroit Tigers in the 38th round of the 2009 amateur draft but planned to attend North Carolina State University instead of signing.
