Talk:Wade Boggs
From BR Bullpen
I've never been much of a Boggs fan, however, what took the Red Sox so long to bring the guy up? They draft him in 1976, he hits .332 in A ball in 1977 (4th in the CL)and .311 in AA in 1978. So they send him to AA again and he hits .325 (2nd in the EL). In 1980 he hits .306 in AAA so the Sox trade for Carney Lansford and send Boggs to AAA again where he hits .335 and wins the batting title in 1981. Granted he wasn't showing any power but wth? --Jeff 01:01, 28 October 2009 (EDT)
I noticed a lot of odd personnel moves like that during the late 70s/early 80s - see Mark Naehring for instance. - --Mischa 09:38, 28 October 2009 (EDT)
