Sorry for the limited information. I could find very little on Hughes - even compared to other Negro League players, data is pretty scarce. The little I could find doesn't support the Hughes-for-HOF proponents. The more I find out about the top Negro League 2B, the more it seems to be a generally weak position. It looks like all the top infielders played short or third.
