I live in Tawas City, Michigan and am a friend of two of Roxey Roach's sons, Wilbur and Robert. I also know of another son who lived here but died recently who was known as Roxey Roach. His wife, Wanda, lives here and he is a half-brother to Robert (Bob) and Wilbur. Wilbur and Bob are both in their 80's and are very well known in this community. Wilbur was a fighter pilot in WWII in the US Army Air Force before it became the USAF. Wilbur tells the story of his father's nick name, Roxey, as having come about due to his habit of picking stones up on the infield basepaths and throwing them off the field.
