That's a huge list of famous alumni. Maybe we should trim the list a bit to keep the famous like Murray and Martinez and remove the not-so-famous Terry Tiffees of the world? - --Mischa 17:29, 30 August 2006 (EDT)

Agreed. -Chisoxfan 20:24, 30 August 2006 (EDT)

What criteria should be used to classify an alumnus as "famous"? This isn't the only team that's listing players who are far from household names as "famous alumni". I'd suggest limiting the lists to players who either established themselves as major league regulars or who became famous for something other than baseball. It might even be a good idea to have separate categories for alumni who were famous in baseball from those who were famous outside of baseball. --Roger 19:19, 31 August 2006 (EDT)

Maybe if we changed it to most notable alumni. For short-lived teams in the mid-minors, a Junior Ortiz may be among the most notable, but for the Buffalo Bisons, we're aiming for a much higher caliber. - --Mischa 20:10, 31 August 2006 (EDT)

Exactly, the Red Wings have been the top minor league club for two great organizations for 60 years. There have been a huge number of major leaguers. The list needs to be pared down. On the other hand, any major leaguer that played for a one year D league team is notable. --Just me 23:21, 31 August 2006 (EDT)

So, we now have four in favor and none opposed to trimming these lists. Anyone want the job? - --Mischa 08:35, 1 September 2006 (EDT)

I'll do it. I figure that I'll target about 20 total alumni, starting with the HOFers and future HOFers, plus a few current players and then pad out the list with any near HOFers. --Roger 14:26, 2 September 2006 (EDT)

Looks good to me! -Chisoxfan 14:52, 2 September 2006 (EDT)
