Talk:Roanoke Tigers
From BR Bullpen
Moved from main page:
My late Grandfather, Raymond "Ray" Ryan, was a catcher for the 1909 Roanoke Tigers. His experience with Roanoke was the best year he ever had in a long Minor League career, and concluded with his being drafted up to the Chicago White Sox as part of the late season expanded roster. While he was on the Roanoke Tigers, he became the subject of a T206 Baseball card, making him one of the elusive early stars of the "Southern League". It is my sincere interest to obtain one (or more) of Grampaw's baseball card(s), to become a family heirloom(s).
