Talk:Red Bird

From BR Bullpen

I have searched all over the web, and I can't find a darned thing about Red Bird. He pitched in that one game, and that's it. I can't find anything about his childhood, his minor league experiences, or any anecdotes. If anyone has anything about him that isn't spam, it would be interesting to know. He came up at the age of 31, so he clearly had a career outside of the major leagues. - Randy 11:55 28 July 2006 (EST)

Why do spammers like Red Bird's page so much?

I protected the page, but feel free to unprotect him if need be. --Just me 22:08, 17 Mar 2006 (EST)

I removed the silly speculation that he's Goose Goslin as his career path and demographics are entirely different. Also, just because nothing's available on the web doesn't mean that nothing was known about him. I added the last six years of his minor league career as this information is available in non-web sources. I sure hope people aren't relying on the web for all their information given the amount of errors on some web sites (which could explain the major gaffes posted on pages like Nick Etten's previously). Let's stick to reputable sources. - --Mischa 08:43, 22 August 2006 (EDT)

We all have access to different sources, which is at once the strength and the weakness of the system. In Red Bird's case, I'm glad you had information about him. - Randy 14:01 22 August 2006 (EDT)
