I am trying to find out what minor league team that Ray Poat played for in the 1930's or 1940's before going professional to the Cleveland Indians in 1942. I was told that it might have been with the Indianapolis Indians but can not confirm this. Can anyone tell me what minor league team/teams he would have played in?

--- Poat did play for the Indianapolis Indians before joinning Cleveland. He was 15-8 for Indy in '42. Previously he had spent two seasons for Cedar Rapids of the Three-I League, going 29-14. In '39, he got his pro debut with Leaksville-Spray-Draper (one team? two? three?) of the Bi-State League, where he was 15-4. HTH. - Mischa
