The following paragraph was on the article page. Some of the info didn't seem appropriate to me for an encyclopedia article. I am preserving here though as it seems it was written by a family member:

"Ray Lucas was pitching and was in a hunting accident were he had his hand shot off. In which ended his pitching career. He then went on to scout for the mudhens. His daughter still lives in Harrisn Michigan where Ray passed away in 1969. Her name is Diana Bakus. She said there was a puzzel put out of him in his baseball uniform. She also has photos of Ray with Stan Musial Dick Sisler,Frank Soalzi and a few others. Casey Stengel was Rays manager when Ray pitched for the Toledo Mudhens. Ray was also called Red Lucas. Diana {Rays Daughter}also has photos of Red showing a group of nine players with Lawton on the front of their uniforms different pitches. I have tried finding a baseball card of ray but have never been able to. Not sure there was one ever made. Ray also broke his shoulder one afternoon while practicing with his team while pitching in toledo as it was reported in the headlines by Casey Stengel. Even with all the set backs Ray had in his time as a pitcher in the majors and his career shortened by his hunting accident Casey regarded Ray Red Lucas as a great pitcher while with the Toledo Mudhens."
