Was Pete Gray ever Married? The movie about him indicates a girl friend. If married, any children?

11/01/05 - this from the NY Times Obituary: "But he did little with his life after baseball. He shunned public attention and spent his time quietly with the townspeople in Nanticoke. He never married and had no immediate survivors." Also noted in the Obit, he was one of five children.
