Are we certain that Ned Yost is not related to Eddie Yost? Both are named Yost, and both have the middle name "Frederick". One's first name is Edward while the other's first name is Edgar, but still, the similarities are large. - Randy 23:34 19 December 2006 (EST)

True, Ned was born in California. Eddie played in California for the Angels, but that was six years after Ned was born. Still, you have two guys named Ed, with the middle name Frederick, and the last name Yost. It seems unusual. - Randy 23:47 19 December 2006 (EST)
His biography in the 1986 Expos Media Guide does not list any kinship with Ed Yost. It says he is the son of Ned Yost Jr., "former All-American football star at Santa Rosa College in California". You'd think if he was related to the much more famous Ed, it would be mentioned... --Philippe 11:12, 20 December 2006 (EST)
