Same James Witham who played in the Northern League in 1935-1940 [1] ? --Jeff 02:26, 2 January 2009 (EST)

So far I've been able to track him down as more of a basketball coach at Mankato and Bimedji State as early as 1942 and then AD at Northern Iowa in 60s and 70s. A google news search tells me he died in April of 1990 in AZ, and a search of the SSDI says that he was born in Feb of 1911. So depending on how accurate SABR is on that 1912 birthdate we've got a big fat maybe. But I'll keep looking. --Biggtone23 15:15, 2 January 2009 (EST)

I have a feeling that the SABR birthdates are more or less approximate if only the year is listed. If they have a source that calls him (as an example) 25 in 1937, they list 1912 as the birthdate, but it may be off a year one way or another depending on whether he's had his birthday yet that year. --Jeff 15:19, 2 January 2009 (EST)
