Same as Michael Blazo, 1952 Salisbury Reds manager? Also, should minor league manages get the player-manager category? --MichaelEng 17:20, 21 July 2006 (EDT)
Mike Blazo was a true old school baseball player and manager. He schooled several who made it to the Bigs and all spoke highly of him to me and others. I worked for him one year and consider it a great year of experience and education. Unfortunately, there aren't many Mike Blazos left in the baseball world.
Fellas; Please do not take this as an argumentive situation. Most, if not all, of my material comes from the Encyclopedia of Minor League Baseball, Second edition. The Mike Blazo page and the dates and material in the encyclopedia just do not match. I would not swear by the encyclopedia's accuracy on everything anymore as I have been finding many things that are very questionable. For instance, the Bull Pen page on Blazo has him taking Thorpe Hamilton's place in 1939 and the encyclopedia has it happening in 1938. Also there is no mention of Mike managing any other club in the Northeast Arkansas League at anytime. Mike Blazo is as whoever wrote the statement above mine...a true man of baseball and he deserves for his baseball past to be recorded correctly. I worked for and with the man for six years...if anyones name should come up blue it should be Mike's. I am asking if one of you guys would do a check on Mike's page for dates, etc; I would check it myself but I do not have the sources that are mentioned on his page. The 1938 section is a bit redundant - BTW, were they the Newport Tigers or Cardinals? - --Mischa 16:23, 30 January 2007 (EST)
Cardinals 36-38, Tigers in 39 --Jeff 22:05, 30 January 2007 (EST)
