I am quite sure that the Bill Bohlender referred to on this page is actually Lee Bohlender who began a long minor-league career in Marion.

Lee was an outstanding basketball and baseball player for Philipsburg High School in Montgomery County, Ohio, near Dayton. That school became part of the consolidated Northmont High School many years ago.

Lee is my cousin, and I do know that he went on to play for minor league teams in Beaumont, Texas, and Macon, Georgia. He was part of the Cubs organization for many years, playing mostly in right field. After his retirement from baseball, Lee became a police officer-firefighter in the Dayton, Ohio, suburb of Oakwood, and he also has retired from that position.

I think you're right. Pat Doyle lists a Bill Bohlender as playing from 1948-1957, starting with Marion but some of the Baseball Guides as well as newspaper archives list him as Lee. Other Guides list him as William and Doyle and other sources often assume all Williams are Bills. I made a page for Lee Bohlender. - --Mischa 20:14, 25 October 2007 (EDT)
