Couple of questions about the recent changes: Nick Kahl was with Quincy in the Three-I League in the 1910s and there is no W. Cummings active before 1940 (SABR Minor League Database). --Jeff 22:15, 18 June 2008 (EDT)

They are both listed in the third edition of the Encyclopedia, W. Cummings with the Auburn Athletics in 1910 and Robert "Nick" Kahl as the manager of the Hiawatha Athletics in 1912. Niether are listed in the second edition. I ran them through the "name finder" nothing at all for Cummings but Nick kahl came up. There could be another. There was only one Nick Kahl name that came up but there could be someone with a similar first or nick-name in the loop. I'll look further but should you find anything you think is correct just correct it. Thanks--Dugout 22:55, 18 June 2008 (EDT)

Of the five "Kahl's" listed in the SABR data base, none work for 1912. They are in that time era but not in the MINK league. Of the "Cummings" names in the data base none fit the time era or appear to ever have been in the MINK league. So it appears that the Encyclopedia's listing is not correct. There is always the chance that the data base is incorrect and there is a real good chance that the Encyclopedia is not correct. I can leave them in or take them out whatever you think is correct.....works for me. In the past two years I have chased hundreds of situations like this and most of the time I stick with Johnson & Wolff simply because they seem to be the most reliable, in the long run. The more sources I have acquired the tougher it gets to make things match.--Dugout 23:55, 18 June 2008 (EDT)

Jeff, I have done the best I can do with the MINK. I matched names with the SABR data base, with leagues they had played or managed in before and after the MINK's time. Many names do not come up on the data base. Johnson & Wolff and the data base just do not jive on this league. Actually I added One new guy, Homer Black, and did away with Harry Sievers and moved Jay Plank to his proper year. Change it if you see fit...I am finished..did the best I could--Dugout 17:13, 19 June 2008 (EDT)

The SABR database is probably not complete. Also, it only lists players so managers who were not player-managers would not be included. - --Mischa 19:55, 19 June 2008 (EDT)

This page says Hiawatha Athletics. The Hiawatha, KS page says Indians. - --Mischa 16:49, 28 October 2009 (EDT)

Filichia doesn't list a nickname. Johnson & Wolff list Athletics (which is what this page is based on). --Jeff 00:35, 30 October 2009 (EDT)
