Talk:Larry Rojas
From BR Bullpen
There was an intermediate entry that might have had some useful info but some was clearly false (saying he died in October 2008 when it's only September 2008) so I simply rolled it back. Could someone weed the good stuff out? - --Mischa 16:17, 23 September 2008 (EDT)
Here's the rolled back info:
Infielder Larry Rojas played in the minor leagues from 1961 to 1971, largely in the Detroit Tigers and for the Angels chain. From 1963 to 1969. He joined the Phillies in 1970 playing in AA Reading, he also played in Eugene, Oregon, AAA (hitting his only grand slam while playing in Hawaii). He managed for the Phillies in Helena, Montana wherein Ryne Sandberg was starting his career. He later became a coach traveling throughout the Phillies organization for hitting and infielding traveling with his good friend, Bob Tiefenauer who was the pitching instructor. After that time, he held various positions within the Phillies Minor League Operations. In 1985, Larry underwent a heart transplant in Richmond, Virginia, returning to duties at the Carpenter Complex as soon as he was able to. He ended his carrer as Latin liason and performing scouting duties until October, 27th, 2008 when he passed away.
