I'm removing the Arizona Fall League alumni category. If we have that, then we might as well have alumni categories for every league, which is way too cumbersome and adds far too many categories. Does anyone disagree? - --Mischa 11:58, 2 July 2006 (EDT)
I disagree. An alumni category for each league would certainly be cumbersome, but the AFL is unlike normal leagues because it is a developement league and began in the mid 90's. I would disagree with making an amumni category for a league such as the Pacific Coast League, but I believe the information for the AFL would be both pertinent and useful. I would also suggest that in future similar situations a discussion precedes a member single-handedly undoing the work of another based purely on personal opinion. That action is the easiest way to disenchant new members from contributing to what is otherwise a great project like the Bullpen - --LQ 12:58, 2 July 2006 (EDT)
Of course, one can present the opposite point of view - before creating a new category and spreading it around, please bring it for discussion instead of single-handedly cluttering pages based purely on personal opinion. That action is the easiest way to make a muddle of this great project. That's been our approach for the year we've been working on this project and part of why it has remained fairly organized. Before someone presents a new category, they ask around if it's warranted or if it would just add unneccesary levels of clutter. We do not want to discourage contributions but want to keep this thing organized. Thanks for all your input so far - please keep contributing. - --Mischa 13:06, 2 July 2006 (EDT)
Perhaps, instead of a separate category, you could include a list of some notable alumni on the Arizona Fall League page. -Chisoxfan 14:19, 2 July 2006 (EDT)
Instead of a new category, its always good to flesh out existing pages - i.e. the individual Arizona Fall League team pages --Just me 18:06, 2 July 2006 (EDT)
