Can someone explain the 1934 Lucas feat better? It makes no sense to me. - --Mischa 13:35, 25 July 2008 (EDT)

I'm assuming it has something to with complete games, and Lucas not getting pinch-hit for in late innings etc. But it doesn't seem like he had an abnormally high number of complete games for that era. --Jeff 13:49, 25 July 2008 (EDT)

According to the Baseball Library, Red Lucas had a stretch of 27 consecutive complete games, which is the modern ML record and would reach 250 innings if a few extra-inning games are thrown in. However, that stretch took place in 1931-32, not 1934, so the info here may be wrong. Rick Langford pitched 22 complete games in a row in 1980 to own the AL record. In any case, it's quite a remarkable feat, and done by a pitcher who is better known for his hitting ability. --Philippe 00:38, 26 July 2008 (EDT)

Given its questionable nature, I'm scratching it. - --Mischa 11:30, 27 July 2008 (EDT)
