Talk:Joe Jones
From BR Bullpen
Do we have any other information on this guy? There have obviously been several Joe Jones in baseball history (Doyle lists 6). There is a Joe C. Jones who played from 1963-1969 who would seem to be the most likely candidate. - --Mischa 19:09, 19 April 2007 (EDT)
I had hesitated making this one, but there only seems to be one managing at all, so I assumed it was all the same guy. I know nothing else about him. --Jeff 19:23, 19 April 2007 (EDT)
I checked out three Guides from his managerial career (1971, 1972, 1974) and all list him simply as Joe Jones. Dagnabbit. - --Mischa 19:26, 19 April 2007 (EDT)
I tried several searches on paperofrecord for Joe Jones, GCL and White Sox but they either come back with way too many hits or none, depending on how I go about it. - --Mischa 19:35, 19 April 2007 (EDT)
I'm thinking he's the same guy who was listed as a Royals coach in 1987 amd 92 (and later a Pirates coach) by Total Baseball... I'm adding his dates. -Chisoxfan 22:34, 24 April 2007 (EDT)
It looks as if Mischa is correct again, I'm guessing Joe C. Jones. I'm gonna add his bio from the 1995 Royals media guide. --Trauty 11:10, 19 September 2007 (EDT)
