I grew up in Santa Clara, CA and knew Joe quite well in grade school and high school. He was the best ball player I ever saw growing up. Carney Lansford ( career Oakland A's ), and several others played with Joe also. It is also true to my recollection that he was a bit crazy too. A really fun guy.
