My brother, Jim Magnuson, DID NOT COMMIT SUICIDE. I want that omitted immediately. My brother, Jimmy the Mag, Maggie, Jim Magnuson, James Robert Magnuson, did not commit suicide and you need to remove that NOW.

Jim suffered from alcoholism. He suffered. He was, unfortunately, unable to crawl his way out of a deep, dark hole and it killed him. My wonderful and loving brother Jim will always be missed and he was killed over memorial day. The almighty disease of aloholism KILLED him. And for God's sake my brother did NOT COMMIT SUICIDE! You don't know - you haven't been affected by - the disease we call alcoholism??!

Finally, the apartment to which you refer was not his "girlfriend's apartment" - it was Jim's apartment. Jim provided everything, including whatever technology was available in 1991 (stereo, television, microwave and telephone) - and he paid for the food (and probably the alcohol to which his "girlfriend", Carol deeply partook in as well). Girlfriend's apartment my ass.

To say that my brother was a good, kind and caring man is more than an undestatement you will ever know. He loved his family and, despite his unforgiving disease, my brother Jim Magnuson was the most generous individual I have ever known or met.

I love him. I miss him more than words can say. He was good. He was fun. He was my big brother.
