It might interest Indian baseball players and fans that while there are few if any Indian baseball players in American professional baseball there are baseball players and executives of Indian descent. The Bernhardt family from the Dominican Republic: Juan, Carlos and Jose are descended from an Indian contract laborer in the Danish West Indies who took the surname Bernhardt from a European missionary who had sponsored his conversion to Christianity in the 1870s. The family later moved to Puerto Rico then the Dominican Republic where they were intermarrying with Latinos.
