Just a little remark: In Dutch names of clubs are usually, though far from universally, just considered as "names of individual entities", even if the names are plural. "Pioniers has one very good pitcher", in a mere listing of clubs definite articles are not added, in a normal sentence like "We will beat the Pioniers" it CAN be (and is) used, but that suggests rather the actual players on the team(s) rather than the club, with board members and all.
Of course, this is a wiki in English, but still, this could be useful to know if one encounters a Dutch club the name of which MAY be plural, for all you know. --ThW5 21:06, 1 September 2008 (EDT)
Thanks for the pointer. I'll try to keep it in mind. - --Mischa 09:18, 2 September 2008 (EDT)
