"My Way" Ochiai just took away his pitcher Yamai's chance for a Japan Series perfect game, deciding to " . . play it safe" by bringing in a closer for the 9th inning. And at home!

With a 3-1 game lead in the Series. OTOH, it was a 1-0 lead and Iwase is one of the best closers in NPB history. Still an amazing move, especially in a league once noted for forcing their pitchers to go the distance no matter what. - --Mischa 10:41, 1 November 2007 (EDT)
