Information on George Kell was obtained from Bert Kell of Rogers, Arkansas. Bert is the nephew of George and stays in contact with his Hall of Fame uncle. Bert asked him specifically about his Arkansas State experience and he said he enrolled when the U.S. military rejected him for service in WWII. He said he attended school, but never played baseball there.
