What are the chances that this is 2 guys? --Jeff 11:46, 28 March 2008 (EDT)

Possible, although notice how all the managerial stops are in the same geographic area. Probably was a high school orcollege coach in the Pacific NW in the intervening years... --Philippe 12:31, 28 March 2008 (EDT)

I'm finding an Ernie Rodriguez who attended Roosevelt High School in LA and later coached there here and played at UCLA from 1957 to 1959 here, and an "Ernest Rodriguez" who played minor league ball in Canada here. Same guy? -Chisoxfan 13:19, 28 March 2008 (EDT)

Doyle lists three Ernie Rodriguez possibilities: Ernest (1958-1964, spent some time at AAA); Ernesto (1991-1992; A ball) and Ernie (1985-1986; A and Rookie ball) - --Mischa 09:39, 9 April 2008 (EDT)

The 1964 manager was a "former UCLA star who played in the Dodger system" [1] --Jeff 17:25, 9 April 2008 (EDT)

Couldn't find anything on the other two situations at paperofrecord --Jeff 17:39, 9 April 2008 (EDT)

I think we can conclusively say that there was an Ernie Rodriguez who went to Roosevelt High, then UCLA, then played in the minors (Dodger chain), then managed Pocatello in 1964, then went back and coached at Roosevelt. The question is whether he went back to the minors in 1987-1993. --Jeff 17:43, 9 April 2008 (EDT)

SABR has an Ernest Rodriguez in the Dodger chain from 1958 to 1964 and born in 1937 [2]. That would fit with UCLA as he began playing in the minors at 22. It also fits with the 1964 manager in the Dodger chain as he played only 17 games in 1964 before beginning his managing. --Jeff 23:56, 13 August 2008 (EDT)

There's also the Ernest Rodriguez that managed the Great Falls Giants from 1975 to 1982. --Jeff 23:58, 13 August 2008 (EDT)

I've added the Great Falls Giants years. It's extremely likely this is the same man, and everything belongs to the gentleman born in 1937. --Philippe 08:21, 14 August 2008 (EDT)

The Great Falls manager is the brother of Idaho Falls Angels manager Reuben Rodriguez [3] --Jeff 11:42, 14 August 2008 (EDT)

Apparently the Great Falls manager was a teacher in the LA school [4] system during the off-season, which leads more credence to him being the same guy as the earlier Rodriguez. --Jeff 12:08, 14 August 2008 (EDT)
