Removed from article: On June 22, 1871, White ended his brief but unillustrious career out of position. The right fielder was serving as a back up catcher that day, when he ran into a wall chasing an errant throw and broke his arm. He would never play in a major league game again.

The Cleveland team didn't play its 15th game until July 22; Retrosheet lists his final game as taking place on September 27, the team's last game. Maybe he suited up but didn't play? --MichaelEng 18:07, 20 Apr 2006 (EDT)
