Talk:Ed Curtis
From BR Bullpen
Edwin Russell Curtis, not much is known about him, he was born on August 29th, 1843, in Hartford, Connecticut, married Helen Diana Bevier/Bovier, on February 20th, 1878, in New York, and in 1880, was owner or manager of a department store in Altoona, Pennsylvania, by then he was 37, with no apparent conections to baseball. However, in 1884, he was non-playing manager of the Altoona Mountain Citys of the Union Association, a short-lived third major league. After that, he showed no conections as a player or manager in organized baseball. Later, he moved to Bath, New York, where he died on August 6th, 1914, about 3 weeks short of his 71st birthdate. As an independent researcher, I found this much on the internet. I am working on an exhaustive register/encyclopedia of major and minor league players, managers, coaches, executives, and scouts. I can be found at BrReverend3@Yahoo.com. I also make regular contributions to TheBaseballCube. Hope this may help someone.
