Talk:Drew Taylor
From BR Bullpen
Wow, this guy has a Masters degree in biology, wants to go into the medical world and still finds time to play baseball for the Intercounty League. Anything for the love of the game I suppose... I'm still trying to figure out how he's eligible to play for the British national team if he and his dad were both born in Canada...--Oaktree_b 23:53, 25 August 2009 (EDT)
The British team is almost entirely Canadian and Australian. Do these guys automatically qualify for British passports or something? - --Mischa 09:05, 26 August 2009 (EDT)
Probably some special British immigration rule. I know I can get a visa for work in England pretty easily, as my Grandpa was born in England and fought in WW1 (some special rule for children and grand-children of a British national), a hold over from the grand old days of the Empire... Probably is some special rule for Commonwealth nations. --Oaktree_b 18:52, 26 August 2009 (EDT)
He didn't make the GB squad. Is he notable? - --Mischa 16:46, 27 September 2009 (EDT)
I think he is, he played in 2006 and 2007 for the Blue Jays farm teams in the Minors, and spent a year in the Frontier League. I'll update his bio when I have a chance. He also spent time in the Intercounty Baseball League, but I'm not sure if we're counting that as a category yet...
BTW, Upper Canada College is an expensive, very exclusive private school in Toronto. Drew is very lucky to attend, only the best children get in. Quite prestigious. Oaktree_b 21:11, 29 September 2009 (EDT)
I wasn't aware of the minor league time. Thanks for adding it to the bio. That does make him notable. - --Mischa 09:01, 30 September 2009 (EDT)
