I can't remember why Dave Roberts was traded in 1980, did he want to be a starter again?

The Pirates sold him to the Mariners. He didn't become a starter.

Roberts' 2.10 ERA in '71, second in the N.L. only to Seaver, was the first time the Padres had a top-flight statistic. With that miserable team, it was the first sign we fans had (along with, to a lesser degree, Nate Colbert's 38 HRs in '70) that we were playing in the same league as our competitors.
