Except, was Johnson really "out of baseball"? He led the American Association with 15 wins in 1988. He was granted free agency on October 15 and signed with the Astros on December 22, then traded to the Orioles on March 31, 1989. He may have had a truck driving job in the off-season to make ends meet, but that wasn't all that uncommon. --Jeff 16:52, 16 June 2007 (EDT)
