Talk:Dave Hostetler
From BR Bullpen
Since when is 37 home runs in 255 games all that impressive? His slugging percentage was .407. Kingman's lifetime SLG was .478. - Randy 16:54 31 August 2006
You make an excellent point! I'm going to have to revise this tomorrow and really think it out. Of course Randy, I hope you realize that I am a complete newby to this site, having started on yesterday 8-31-06. David
Welcome to the site. Everybody starts out a newby. You should post something about yourself (in the "article" part under your own name) so we know a bit about you! You can find mine if you click on my name. Also, it's the custom to end your comments in areas like this with your name, time (EDT), and date, as I've done here. It gets very confusing if people don't mark a comment with name, time, and date. - Randy 12:32 1 September 2006 (EDT)
I don't have a 1982 Guide. I'm assuming Hostetler might have been an All-Star that year. Can someone check it out? - --Mischa 18:27, 1 September 2006 (EDT)
Buddy Bell was the Ranger AS in '82 --Just me 18:40, 1 September 2006 (EDT)
Not 1982. 1981 with the Denver Bears. The '82 Guide covers the 1981 season. - --Mischa 18:58, 1 September 2006 (EDT)
Sorry, I'm an idiot. Yes he was the AS 1B --Just me 19:03, 1 September 2006 (EDT)
Thanks! - --Mischa 19:10, 1 September 2006 (EDT)
I'm assuming you meant the post season AS team. That's listed in Johnson & Wolff. Did the AA have an AS game back then?? --Just me 19:11, 1 September 2006 (EDT)
No idea. I usually see the term applied to post-season All-Stars and am specifically listing players who appear in mid-season All-Star games (ex. Brett Roneberg) to distinguish them. - --Mischa 19:17, 1 September 2006 (EDT)
