Talk:Columbus Clippers
From BR Bullpen
| Preceded by Tacoma Yankees | New York Yankees AAA Affiliate 1979-2006 | Succeeded by Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees |
| Preceded by Ottawa Lynx | Washington Nationals AAA Affiliate 2007- | Succeeded by Current |
| Preceded by Memphis Blues | International League Team 1977- | Succeeded by Current |
I wanted to get some opinons on the above sucession boxes before adding them to the page and continuing with other teams. PROS: Puts the info on the team pages (which I think are viewed more) and not the minor league affiliates pages. Gives the information in a more compact form. CONS: Will most likely get messy with the pre-1963 reorganization affiliations. Co-ops could also cause problems. Affiliation history is given at the top of the page, though the emphasis is on the minor league team, while these would be focused on the parent club.
By the way my source for team movement (Columbus replacing Memphis in the IL) is http://www.geocities.com/big_bunko/minor.html

I think that having the emphasis on the minor league team instead of the parent team is appropriate. The page for the Columbus Clippers should be about the Clippers, not the Yankees. The info is at the top of the page, so I'm not really liking the succession boxes. --Jeff 22:12, 7 August 2007 (EDT)
I like the affiliates pages myself. I think it would be nice to trace franchise history, but whether this is via succession boxes or info in the article is the question. - --Mischa 12:51, 8 August 2007 (EDT)
