Talk:Charley Taylor
From BR Bullpen
I wonder if two Charles Taylors are getting mixed up. There was one who pitched for Salt Lake City in 1969 and Lodi in 1970 and was drafted by the Padres in the 9th round in the January 1969 draft and one who was in the Astros system after they picked him in the 24th round in 1969.
Pat Doyle and thebaseballcube.com seem to have these two mixed up, as they have Charles Taylor being drafted twice in a year and pitching in two different organizations in both 1969 and 1970.
I found the clincher. The Salt Lake City/Lodi Charles Taylor is a lefty, this one is a righty.
So, which baseballcube.com schools listed are correct for which one? As the Legends media guide lists Charley as being from Kentucky, I'm guessing he's the Eastern Kentucky one, while the left-hander is from left coast Vallejo.

Man, I love doing this kind of detective work, finding out errors in the established sources like Doyle to make them better in the next edition. It helps clarify the picture of baseball history. - --Mischa 12:11, 20 December 2006 (EST)
FWIW, SABR lists this one as Chuck. At some point we will probably have to have a disambig for all the Charles, Charlies, Charleys, and Chucks. --Jeff 14:07, 4 December 2008 (EST)
