Talk:Bob Henry

Doyle has him as Bob C. Henry and active from 1944-1947 and then in 1953, a weird gap. He has a different Bob Henry listed as pitching in 1950, 1953 and 1955-1957 and another one pitching in 1942. Two more are listed in the '50s for one season as hitters. Can anyone make sense of these? Are all five distinct players in reality? - --Mischa 18:47, 14 Jun 2006 (EDT)

When I played with Bob Henry in 1953 on the Oshkosh Giants, he was a veteran player, much older than most of us younger players. (Most of us were 18 or 19 years old). I'm pretty sure he had once played AAA baseball, perhaps in the International League, probably in the 1940s. I am not certain about this, but it seems logical re his age. He may have taken time off before returning to pro baseball. He just happened to live in the Oshkosh Wisconsin area, and joined the team about midway through the 1953 season. He was married and had children. Maybe this will help identify the right Bob Henry.

SABR list six Robert Henrys and one Bob Henry. They have the same playing career and name for this guy as Doyle does. --Jeff 13:52, 22 August 2008 (EDT)
