Talk:Black Sox Scandal

Removed links to things not baseball. Not sure if that was correct but I don't see how you could make a page for those things in a baseball reference. --Pti 22:38, 17 Aug 2005 (EDT)

[edit] If you wanted to take the time...

You could link them to wikipedia. I think your idea is best though. -Scott

- is the attendance for game 7 correct?

[edit] Right page? / Wrong page?

I think much of this page should be moved to the 1919 WS page. I know that the series and the scandal are tied up together, but an effort should be made to seperate the two without too much repetiition...--Exshpos 13:53, 14 Dec 2005 (EST)

I am going to try my hand at the separation task, first by moving the detailed information about the games into the 1919 WS article, and then editing this article down to the information about the scandal's background, effects on play on the field, and aftermath. --Philippe 03:24, 2 Jun 2006 (EDT)

In completely revamping the article, I took out the following section:

== Notable Performances==
===Cincinnati Reds===
*Earle "Greasy" Neale (OF): 10-for-28; .357 batting average; 3 runs; 2 doubles; 1 triple; 4 RBI;
*Hod Eller (P): 2 games started; 2 complete games (1 shutout); 2 wins; 18 innings pitched; 13 hits allowed, 4 earned runs; 2 bases-on-balls; 15 strikeouts; 2.00 ERA.
===Chicago White Sox===
*"Shoeless" Joe Jackson (OF): 12-for-32; .375 batting average; 5 runs; 3 doubles; 1 home run; 6 RBI;
*Ray Schalk (C): 7-for-23; 1 run; 2 RBI;
*Buck Weaver (3B): 11-for-34; .324 batting average; 4 runs scored; 4 doubles; 1 triple;
*Dickie Kerr (P): 2 games started; 2 complete games (1 shutout); 2 wins; 19 innings pitched; 14 hits allowed; 3 earned runs; 3 bases on balls; 6 strikeouts; 1.42 ERA.

My reason for doing so is that it is taken verbatim from Wikipedia and adds little to what is already in this article and the 1919 WS one.--Philippe 10:16, 2 Jun 2006 (EDT)

In "Unusual Happenings..." it says Rath was hit with the second pitch. In "Banned Players" it says Cicotte hit him with the first pitch. --Just me 12:27, 2 Jun 2006 (EDT)

I have two different sources stating the first pitch was a strike, but the second hit Morrie Rath. I'll change the banned players section.--Philippe 12:48, 2 Jun 2006 (EDT)
