I see that a Bill F. Southworth played in the minors in the 1960s. Any relation to Billy Sr. and Jr.? - --Mischa 14:23, 6 January 2008 (EST)

He'd be the right age to be a Billy III. I wonder if there's an obit for Billy Jr. in the Sporting News and would say if he had a young son. --Jeff 22:09, 6 January 2008 (EST)

The article in the February 22, 1945 TSN says he is survived by his father, a stepsister, stepmother, 4 uncles, and an aunt. So if its a relative, its a cousin of Jr. and a nephew of senior. --Jeff 22:18, 6 January 2008 (EST)

Aha. The November 20, 1965 edition says "Young infielder Billy Southworth, who is no relation to you-know-who..." in talking about the Braves' roster. FWIW the article calls him a "strong whip-armed third baseman who is described as 'the best prospect in our organization' by a Braves official". He was 6' 2", 205. --Jeff 22:29, 6 January 2008 (EST)
