Interesting note about Bill Tuttle. He had a habit of chewing on whole tomatoes during a game, particularly during his pitcher's warmups at the start of an inning. When at 3B for the Twins, he would toss the rinds over to the seats closest to 3B. I saw a number of those while sitting right behind third in Yankee Stadium in 1961.
