Senile? I doubt it. I think he remains so far ahead of the curve that his new ideas are just as hard to accept as his commonly accepted ones used to be.

[edit] runs created

No mention of runs created? This was probably James' first big innovation...

[edit] Hornsby

Noted for his rather low opinion of Hornsby? Lots of people have expressed similar views. You make it sound like he's the only one. I'd scratch that line. What do others think? - --Mischa 17:58, 7 May 2006 (EDT)

Lots of people have expressed rather low opinions of Hornsby as a person. Nobody, including James, has a low opinion of Hornsby the hitter. Even with his defense James ranks him as the #3 2nd baseman and #22 player of all time. --Just me 20:28, 7 May 2006 (EDT)

Frankly, he's more noted for many things, than he is for his opinion of Hornsby --Just me 20:49, 7 May 2006 (EDT)

The Mind of Bill James lists his birth as October 5, 1949 in Holton, KS. It says he grew up in Mayetta. --Jeff 22:34, 2 July 2010 (EDT)
