Bill Dickey was simply AMAZING! In a career that spanned 17 seasons he struck out only 289 times! 6300 at bats, a .313 lifetime hitter and ONLY 289 times struck out. Comparing with Derek Jeters' 6167 lifetime at bats, Jeter has struck out 1,089 times. Now I'm not saying that Jeter is not a great player, he is great, but Bill Dickey must have been a nightmare for opposing pitchers. God I would love to see more players like him! Thanks Bill, RIP.
