What does a baseball clown do, how is it different from a mascot? --MichaelEng 23:34, 17 September 2006 (EDT)

They both entertain, but a mascot (to me) is a modern invention, a character in an animal or other cartoonish outfit. A clown relied more on physical humor than on outlandish costumes and was from an earlier period. I think there is a distinction. - --Mischa 08:32, 18 September 2006 (EDT)
