[edit] Babe Ruth Clamdiggers? Or Providence Grays?
I am just a mom trying to find out some facts for my 9 year old son. I hope this is okay.
Are the 1914 Providence Clamdiggers the same as the Providence Grays?
Do you know where I can get a picture of the Providence uniform (including Cap) when Babe played for the team?
Thank you!

They were the Grays in 1914 and the Clamdiggers in 1891-1894, 1898-1901, 1905 --Just me 23:29, 28 December 2006 (EST)
Here is a picture of the 1914 Providence team, and also a picture of the Babe himself wearing his 1914 uniform. 1914 Providence Grays and Babe Ruth. - Randy 23:37 28 December 2006 (EST)
I've added a lot of material on the Boston years. If someone would now feel inspired to fill in the rest of Ruth's remarkable career... --Philippe 03:46, 5 May 2007 (EDT)
Quick question: Who was Ruth's predecessor as the career HR record? I know that at the time Ruth broke the record it stood at 177. I can't begin to imagine how many names I'd have to dig down through till I found it if I just checked the MLB list. 221.143.56.176 14:02, 30 October 2007 (EDT)
I believe it was Roger Connor. - --Mischa 14:15, 30 October 2007 (EDT)
Thanks.
The 177 figure was apparently incorrect. 221.143.56.176 15:11, 30 October 2007 (EDT)
138 according to Connor's B-Ref page. --Philippe 15:40, 30 October 2007 (EDT)
Almost no biographical information for the 1920s and 1930s? Did everyone just assume Ruth's page would be done? I know I did! - --Mischa 20:43, 23 October 2011 (EDT)
A couple of years back, I did a major clean-up of this article using the Ruth biography from the book on American League Stars of the Deadball era, which unfortunately ended with the trade to New York. So the remainder needs to be written (see my note dated May 5, 2007, above). --Philippe 02:48, 24 October 2011 (EDT)
