There must be a story behind the Auburn Red Stars becoming the Auburn Americans in 1979-1980. Like, wouldn't the name Red Star have sounded like an East Block soccer team after the December 1979 Soviet invasion of Afghanistan ? Better to switch to an unquestionably patriotic team name ! Anyway, anyone will agree that coming up with the distinctive name Doubledays in 1996 was a stroke of genius. --Philippe 05:59, 26 Dec 2005 (EST)
