Was he named after the American president? --MichaelEng 00:45, 14 August 2006 (EDT)
Does anyone have the story behind why an Irishman was named for an United States president? Maybe it was a coincidence? --MichaelEng 23:13, 17 September 2006 (EDT)
Andrew Jackson was partly of Irish heritage, and that would naturally have been a source of pride for Irish people. I can see "Andrew" as a coincidence, but "Jackson" isn't a common first or middle name, and combining "Andrew" with "Jackson" only 9 years after the president left office, a president who was part Irish . . . it doesn't seem like a coincidence. Also, he died in 1845, just before Leonard was born. None of that is proof, just circumstantial. - Randy 14:15 18 September 2006 (EDT)
