Was 1999 the beginning of interleague play? I know it wasn't the beginning of Major League Baseball. I always believed that MLB began in 1920 when the 1st commisioner came to clean up the 1919 blacksox thing. But I'm not sure.

In 1999, the league presidencies were abolished and merged under King Bud.
