Talk:American Association
From BR Bullpen
This page should be split up into three pages - 19 century league, 20 century league and 21 century league - as it stands it is poorly formatted. --MichaelEng 18:03, 1 August 2006 (EDT)
Now that it's been done, we need to fix LOTS of places that link to the 20th century page that should link to the 19th instead. - --Mischa 10:34, 2 August 2006 (EDT)
You aren't kidding! There are over 500 pages that link to the AA page. Obviously not all of them will need to be changed, but that's still a lot of editing. --Roger 10:44, 2 August 2006 (EDT)
Okay, I did all the easy ones (the team pages), but I'll need help ferreting out the ones in player's bios --Just me 23:15, 2 August 2006 (EDT)
The simplest way of doing it is to go to the "What Links Here" page and follow the links there. It's slow but accurate. --Roger 10:35, 3 August 2006 (EDT)
For the HoF Alumni section, do we count rehab stints? Goose played briefly for Oklahoma City in 1991. Also, why is there no HoF Alumni section for the GCL? - --Mischa 20:57, 8 January 2008 (EST)
When I did the HOF section, I put in anybody who played. At the time I did it, I don't think there were any alumni from the GCL in the HOF. --Jeff 21:17, 8 January 2008 (EST)
[edit] Champions
There seems to be an error in the way the AA champions are credited. The postseason Shaughnessy playoffs were used to determine which club would go to the Junior World Series. The Association championship was awarded based on the standings. Bill Veeck, when he owned the Milwaukee Brewers, tried to get this changed, because his team won the pennant three years in a row but washed out of the playoff.[1] Maybe we need a third column in the table - one for pennant winner, one for playoff winner/Jr. World Series representative, and one for MVP.
