Both Ruth and Mantle were on the top five of the home run list at the time of his passing. I can not confirm this, but he my also have pitched to Jimmie Foxx. When Al Benton passed on April 14th 1968, the top five on the home run list included Ruth 714,Willie Mays 565,Foxx 536, Ted Williams 521 and Mantle 519.To my knowledge, no pitcher in the history of baseball has pitched to 3 on the top five home run list. Can anyone confirm (1) whether Benton pitched to Foxx (2) is Benton the only Pitcher to pitch to three players on the top five home run list?
