From BR Bullpen
There are two results of the Committee's research currently available Batter Stats and Pitchers Stats (PDFs) for the Final Ballot. --MichaelEng 08:27, 28 May 2006 (EDT)
Really cool. Does anyone want to take the lead on integrating this data into the current bios? I can't wait to see if we finally get a real Negro League encyclopedia some day. - --Mischa 10:16, 28 May 2006 (EDT)
I think the .402 slugging for Buck O'Neil vindicates what I and others have said - he does not belong in the Hall of Fame. A TV documentary appearance does not count for more than an unknown (to the public) superstar like Beckwith. - --Mischa 10:28, 28 May 2006 (EDT)
Minnie Minoso was hitting .392 in 1948. If he had hit the majors before he was 28 ......
I thought he later said his given birthday was off by a bit and he was older than listed (which makes his achievements in Mexico in his 40s even more impressive). I think appreciation for Minoso has thankfully increased in the past 5-10 years. - --Mischa 10:51, 28 May 2006 (EDT)
