How could Cal Ripken be a rookie twice? The 'Baseball Digest' didn't think so. They named Luis Aguayo as the shortstop on their 1981 All-Rookie team and Ripken only on their 1982 team. Topps played it a little loose back then!

Has to be an error...Ripken hadn't even played shortstop until 1982.

No, it's not an error. Ripken was part of an incredibly weak rookie class at SS in 1981, and was chosen by Topps for its team based on his promise rather than his results. Still, he did not play enough to exhaust his rookie eligibility and had a grest rookie season in 82, becoming the only player to ever make the All-Rookie team twice. --Philippe 10:11, 19 May 2008 (EDT)
