I don't know how this error has taken hold -- I note it here, in Wikipedia, Baseball.Reference.com, and even in the Hall of Fame lists, but this team was for the entire year of its existence known as the Newark Peppers, sometimes shortened to "Peps", but NEVER given as a singular "Pepper". I've viewed sports coverage of the day (at least one newspaper from each FL city, plus the Sporting News and Sporting Life), and there are no references to the moniker "Pepper", unless it is to refer to a single player.

I have a feeling that Baseball.Ref is the original culprit here, and that all the others flow from that error. I have contacted Sean Foreman about it, and he has said he will try to fix it, but I'm afraid that the error may soon become written in stone. Could we make an effort here to correct the error?
